Horse's Ass and NASA
Does the expression, “We’ve always done it that way” ring any bells?
The UK standard railroad gauge (distance between the rails) is 4 feet 8.5 inches. That is an exceedingly odd number.
Why was that gauge used?
Because the first rail lines were built by the same people who built the pre-railroad tramways, and that’s the gauge they used.
Why did “they” use that gauge then?
Because the people who built the tramways used the same jigs and tools that they used for building wagons, which used that wheel spacing.

Cell_architecture
This is just something I was reading in a mag the other week it’s a new Architecture that is set to kick x86 out of the market.
It has been in development for a few years by Sony, IBM and Toshiba. It going to give the PS3 its kick. (at current specs 2 PS3’s clustered will be equivalent the worlds 500th most powerful system)
This is where I think problems are going to start as we all know Sony and Microsoft are going head to head with the XBOX2 and PS3 so I get the felling that is Sony want the new versions of windows to support the Cell Architecture its going to cost them and AMD and Intel are already working on there own version’s
